MARKETING EDGE

Last night, at its Rising Star Awards Dinner, the Direct Marketing Educational Foundation (DMEF) made history as it announced its new name and mission.  The new name, Marketing EDGE, reflects the dramatic transformation happening in marketing and education today.

Established in 1966 by members of the Direct Marketing Association who wanted to give something back to the community, DMEF – now Marketing EDGE — is a separate, 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation that is supported solely by tax-deductible contributions from individuals and companies.

The mission of Marketing EDGE— to Educate, Develop, Grow, and Employ college students in the field of marketing — couldn’t be more relevant — and it is central to DMA’s mission to advance and protect responsible data-driven marketing.  After all, when future marketing professionals are fully prepared to deal with the expanding digital marketplace and all it entails – the entire data-driven ecosystem benefits.

Today, the demand for tech-savvy marketing skills is rising, and a whole new range of careers and job titles is emerging.  Marketing EDGE prepares and empowers the next generation of marketing leaders to meet these demands.  Of course, as these new marketing leaders come into the business world, DMA is there to bolster them through education, certification programs, networking, compliance programs, and more.

It gives me great pleasure to congratulate and commend Marketing EDGE President Terri Bartlett; Craig Wood, Chair of Marketing EDGE; and the entire Marketing EDGE Board of Directors for taking this important step.

I encourage you all to find out more about Marketing EDGE by exploring their website at http://www.marketingedge.org/, as well as their great new video on the new name and mission.

I know the future holds great promise for Marketing EDGE and its work – and I look forward to many exciting accomplishments and innovations to come.
