Mark has 25 years of direct marketing/sales experience and knows how to employ best-in-class data driven practices and principles to drive sales, improve conversion rates and build value. An industry expert and advocate, he has a thorough understanding of the power of integrated, data driven marketing and the value of such in building brands, improving LTV, segmenting and acquiring customers, creating loyalty, leveraging cross-sell/up-sell opportunities and improving customer retention.
Mark started his career with The Signature Group, (the direct marketing arm of Montgomery Ward) eventually becoming responsible for multiple business units. He joined ServiceMaster (SVM) in 2003 as Vice President of Customer Acquisition and Retention for American Home Shield and has been in his current role since 2006. SVM brands include Terminix, TruGreen, American Home Shield, Merry Maids, ServiceMaster Clean, Amerispec and Furniture Medic.
He leads a world class direct marketing team with expertise in SEO/SEM, email, display, social, mobile, decision sciences, database/direct mail marketing, analytic reporting, strategic development, and integrated program development/execution. He has spent his entire career on the client side of the business focusing his efforts on ways to stir up relevant product demand and then optimizing the sales funnel to turn demand into sales.
Mark led the development of SVM’s enterprise-wide marketing database comprising over 100M customer and prospect records providing individual SVM brands a first ever unified view of their customers. This robust database is regularly enhanced with new data sources including certain digital/attitudinal information allowing SVM to enhance targeting capabilities for their unique needs.
Mark was born and raised in Chicago and currently lives in suburban Memphis with his wife Patty and daughter Sheridan. His sons John and Tom live in Chicago and he enjoys seeing them thrive as they begin their careers in the legal and digital marketing fields respectively.
