New York, NY, July 12, 2013 — Marketing EDGE, formerly known as the Direct Marketing Educational Foundation (DMEF) today announced that Harold “Hal” M. Brierley, Executive Chairman of Brierley+Partners will receive the Edward N. Mayer, Jr. Education Leadership Award and OgilvyOne Worldwide will be presented with the Corporate Leadership Award.
Recognized as Marketing EDGE’s most prestigious event, and attracting a who’s who among marketing professionals and academics, the Annual Awards Dinner and presentation on Sunday, Oct. 13, will mark the importance of education and entry-level talent development in this field – and of these two business leaders who help to make it happen through long-standing contributions, according to Terri L. Bartlett, president, Marketing EDGE.
Proceeds from the evening benefit thousands of students through cutting-edge resources in education and job placement programs among colleges and universities nationwide, Bartlett said. The dinner is also one of the first networking events of the Direct Marketing Association’s (DMA) DMA2013 Conference & Exhibition, which will run Oct. 12-17 in Chicago.
“In the same way that our field is seeing a convergence of marketing disciplines, this year’s honorees represent all that is unique about our field.” said Craig Wood, Marketing EDGE’s Chair. “Both Hal Brierley and OgilvyOne Worldwide have rich histories embedded in the direct marketing world, and each have forged dynamic new territories as this field continues to evolve and transform before our eyes.
“On October 13, the more than 400 business executives expected to join us for this major industry event will make history as we host our very first dinner under our new name, Marketing EDGE, and more importantly, as we set a new level of excellence, celebration and success for the Annual Awards Dinners. We sold out nine weeks in advance last year, and we’re predicting a return performance this year so I hope everyone takes note and registers quickly.”
