We all lead data-driven lives. Consumers – and the economy – enjoy greater benefits today because of the innovative use of marketing data. Data sets tell marketers what consumers like and inform not only smart marketing strategies, but also provide vital insight into how we operate as a community, a government, a nation, a society.
At the same time, legislators and regulators are questioning the use of marketing “big data” with increased skepticism and concern. Some even seem set on putting an end to the collection and use of consumer data by marketers and fundraisers.
