New Orleans Gala Honors Campaigns Driving Results, Hosted by Author and &THEN Host Mel Robbins

NEW ORLEANS – Honoring the world’s most data-inspired storytellers and their innovative, creative and effective marketing campaigns, the Data & Marketing Association (DMA) has awarded 99 medals for the 2017 DMA International ECHO® Awards. The evening’s top prize, the 2017 Diamond ECHO Award, was presented to Cossette for their campaign “100 Today” on behalf of the SickKids Foundation. The 2017 Gold Mailbox Award, Sponsored by USPS, was awarded to Affinity for their work on behalf of Countdown. The full list of ECHO medalists and runners-up is included below this release.

The campaigns selected as medalists – judged across 31 different categories – were awarded gold, silver and bronze medals tonight at the 2017 ECHO Awards Gala. For 90 years, the ECHO Awards have honored excellence in creativity, marketing strategy, and in-market performance in data-driven marketing campaigns. The runner-up campaigns received framed certificates and were acknowledged throughout the evening.

“DMA’s ECHO Awards represent the most successful, results-producing campaigns of the data and marketing industry,” said Tom Benton, Data & Marketing Association CEO. “These award winners demonstrate the incredible power which comes from the combination of data, technology and inspired creative talent. Each of these winners are advancing the work of our field by building customer relationships based on truth, results and trust.”

“The 2017 ECHO Gala hosted an impressive array of data-driven marketing talent and inspiration,” said Jennifer Monaghan, Chairman of the ECHO® Board of Governors and Chief Marketing Officer for the University of Michigan Ross School of Business. “I am incredibly grateful to our judges and Board of Governors for their work reviewing and selecting these honorees from a record number of award entries. These campaigns delivered powerful results for their brands, and we were proud to honor them for their innovative spirit and bold strategies.”

For 2017, the ECHOs have added new categories which reflect the shifting skills of today’s data-driven marketers, including “Best VR and AR Campaign” and “Best in Artificial Intelligence.”

Earlier this year, 240 judges representing the international data and marketing community participated in three rigorous rounds of judging for the 2017 ECHO Awards. Judging took place over a three month period, with the final round hosted in New York City at the offices of global ad agency FCB. Judges from outside of the United States represent 40% of the 2017 judging slate, with judges from all major markets globally.
