Overview

Despite the on-going discussion about millennials and their potential influence on the online gaming market, there has been a lack of empirical research on the online gaming behavior of the millennial generation. This study examined millennials and generational differences in online gaming by comparing online gaming behavior across different generations: Baby boomers, Gen X-ers and Millennials. The results of the Kruskal-Wallis test and pairwise comparisons revealed generational differences in 12 of the16 behavioral variables. The results of this study provide a better understanding of the different online gaming behavior of the generations. They help casino operators and game manufacturers develop casino games and products that can appeal to different generations in the online gaming market.
