Improving Marketing Effectiveness with R and Spark


In this webinar, Dr. Alex Liu, Chief Data Scientist at IBM Analytics Services, will start with a quick review of current trends in utilizing Big Data and AI including some introduction of available tools and platforms.

Dr. Liu will then focus on the power of utilizing Spark and R to model and improve marketing effectiveness by going over a few use cases with attention to data, models, algorithms and methods implementing them in the environment of R and Spark.

Dr. Alex Liu is a Chief Data Scientist at IBM Analytics Services. Before joined IBM, he worked as a chief data scientist for many companies including Retention Science and iSk. Before that, Dr. Liu taught advanced analytics as an adjunct professor at the University of Southern California and the University of California at Irvine, while consulted for the United Nations and other large corporations like Ingram Micro. Alex has a Ph.D. of Quantitative Sociology and M.S. of Statistical Computing from Stanford University.
