His passion for e-commerce and customer-centric thought process began during his time at Amazon.com and has carried through to present-day at dotmailer. Working in both a tactical and strategic role, Mr. Koons enjoys the “hands on” work just as much as the administrative and strategic guidance he provides. From testifying in Congress to speaking at major industry events, Mr. Koons also enjoys public speaking. Mr. Koons’ IT and information security career began as a soldier in the United States Army working with NSA/ CSS Europe (NCEUR). Mr. Koons has also held senior management and consulting positions at Unisys, Staples and Amazon.com as well as serving as an adjunct information systems and technology instructor for an accredited university.
He is helping marketers and data-driven organizations navigate complex interactive marketing policy and international email compliance issues. He is responsible for the global development of self-regulatory and regulatory policies, guidelines and best practices affecting Experian's Marketing Suite (f.k.a. CheetahMail) business, as well as providing privacy thought leadership to Experian’s diverse interactive marketing and consumer insights solutions. Since joining Experian in 2011, Alex has supported due-diligence on strategic acquisitions like Conversant, Alchemy Social, and AdTruth; partnerships with BlueKai, Lotame, RocketFuel, IgnitionOne and Facebook; and completed hundreds of on-demand consulting for diverse brands like Hallmark, AmEx, and Neiman Marcus, Michael Kors, WWE, GameStop, DirecTV, and AT&T.
