Informed Delivery® description: During sortation and processing of the mail, the USPS® digitally images the front of every mail piece that runs through automated equipment. The USPS then uses those images for a second purpose: to provide email notifications in advance of physical mail delivery.
Enrolled consumers see a grayscale image of the address side of their household letter-sized mail in a daily email or via postal dashboard. Business mailers participating in Informed Delivery® campaigns can display relevant color and digital content either along with or in place of mail piece images.

Carrie celebrated her 32nd postal anniversary last March. She is a Senior Product Development Specialist with the Products and Innovation team and is the lead program manager for Informed Delivery™. Carrie began her Postal career in Sioux Falls, SD. She spent several years working in mail processing and held several management positions in the Dakotas District prior to moving to USPS Headquarters in 1997. Carrie has worked on many major programs, including the Postal Service’s electronic system of record keeping for signature products, Click-N-Ship, and the Inside Sales program. She has served in management positions at USPS Headquarters in Strategic Planning, Retail Marketing, and Sales. Jody is a passionate innovator in partnership with the postal service and the mailing industry. She has testified on postal policy before the US Senate, and worked with the USPS and the PRC on postal issues.
